Job summary

DayOne seeks a seasoned project manager to lead end-to-end integration projects for new data centre capacity. You will coordinate with design, construction and operations teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.

You will collaborate with capacity planning, develop operational readiness plans, and manage risks to keep deployments running smoothly. The role requires 5+ years in data centre operations and project management, with PMP/PRINCE2

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data centre operations with capacity planning and integration.
• Certifications such as PMP or PRINCE2 are preferred.
• Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure (servers, networking, storage, cooling).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issues.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage end-to-end integration projects for new data centre capacity, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Collaborate with the capacity planning team to understand future capacity requirements and ensure smooth integration of new infrastructure.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including design, construction, and operations teams, to ensure seamless integration of new capacity.
• Develop and execute operational readiness plans, including testing, documentation, and training, to ensure new capacity is fully operational upon integration.
• Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure all new capacity meets company standards and regulatory requirements.
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise impact on operations.
• Provide regular updates and reports on project status, risks, and issues to senior management and stakeholders.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data centre operations, with a focus on capacity planning and integration.
• Proven experience in project management, with relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.
• Strong understanding of data centre infrastructure, including servers, networking, storage, and cooling systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders.
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
