Job Summary:

A Business Development is responsible for identifying, acquiring, and managing partnerships with streamers and VTuber agencies in Japan. This role focuses on building strong relationships within the Japanese creator ecosystem, driving strategic collaborations, and ensuring streamer engagement and retention. Operating with minimal supervision, this position plays a key role in expanding the company’s presence and influence in the Japan market.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and approach high-potential streamers, VTubers, and content creator agencies in Japan to drive partnership opportunities.
  2. Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders across the Japanese streaming and creator ecosystem.
  3. Negotiate partnership deals and close agreements with streamers and agencies, ensuring mutual benefit and alignment with company objectives.
  4. Collaborate with internal teams such as Product, Marketing, and Operations to develop programs that support streamer growth and engagement.
  5. Provide in-depth market insights on trends, creator behavior, and competitive landscape within the Japanese streaming industry.
  6. Develop and execute local business development strategies to drive streamer acquisition, activation, and retention.
  7. Represent the company in industry events, networking opportunities, and strategic meetings in the Japan market.
  8. Track, analyze, and report on partnership performance, identifying areas for optimization and growth.

Qualifications:

  1. Education & Experience – Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field; Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or partnerships, preferably within the streaming, entertainment, or digital content industry.
  2. Market & Industry Network – Strong, established network within the VTuber community, streaming platforms, or creator economy in Japan.
  3. Language Proficiency – Fluent in both Japanese and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
  4. Sales & Negotiation Skills – Proven track record in deal-making, negotiating partnership terms, and closing business deals with minimal oversight.
  5. Strategic & Independent Execution – Highly proactive, self-motivated, and able to operate independently in a fast-paced environment with little supervision.
  6. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination – Strong ability to work across different teams (Product, Marketing, Operations) to execute initiatives that support creator success.
  7. Passion for Creator Economy – Deep interest in the creator culture, digital entertainment trends, and the evolving content landscape in Japan.
