Job summary

Backswitch is seeking a versatile business analyst to bridge clients and developers. You will learn how businesses operate, map processes, and translate findings into actionable requirements for the tech team.

You’ll engage stakeholders in Bahasa Indonesia, English, or Mandarin as needed. In this role you’ll document requirements, walk through proposed solutions, and stay close to the delivery team to ensure builds reflect agreed outcomes.

Qualifications

• Structured thinking: break down messy problems into clear steps and solutions.
• Comfort talking with decision-makers: ask questions and challenge assumptions.
• Interest in BPMN/flowcharts and user journeys; willing to learn.
• Strong Bahasa Indonesia and good working English; Mandarin is a plus, level to share.

Responsibilities

Job description

You'll be the link between our clients and our developers: understanding how a business actually runs, finding where it gets stuck, and turning that into something the team can build. Experience level is open — we care more about how you think than how many years you've done it.

What you'll do

• Learn how a business really operates, through interviews, observation, and process analysis
• Find what's inefficient or missing, and work out practical fixes
• Run requirements-gathering sessions and walk stakeholders through proposed solutions (Bahasa Indonesia, English, or Mandarin)
• Write requirements documents, functional specs, and use cases that developers can pick up and build from
• Stay close to the dev team during delivery so the build stays aligned with what was agreed

What we're looking for

• Structured thinking — you enjoy taking a messy, half-explained problem and making sense of it
• Comfort talking with decision-makers: asking questions, and saying so when something doesn't add up
• Business process mapping (BPMN, flowcharts, user journeys), or interest in learning it — we'll help
• Strong Bahasa Indonesia and good working English. Mandarin is a plus — just tell us your level
