Bags City is a dynamic and growing multibrand retailer specializing in high-quality luggage, bags, and travel accessories. We pride ourselves on offering a diverse selection to meet the needs of every traveler. We are seeking a talented leader to join our team and drive our success in the Surabaya region.

We are looking for an experienced and results-oriented Branch Manager (Surabaya Region) to lead our operations in the Surabaya region. This pivotal role involves comprehensive oversight of our retail footprint, including both standalone Bags City stores and department store counters (approximately 10-15 locations total). Furthermore, the Branch Manager will be responsible for managing the Surabaya branch office, ensuring the effective operation of key support departments including Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and General Affairs. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader capable of driving sales, optimizing operations, and developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retail Operations Management: Oversee daily operations, sales performance, customer service standards, and visual merchandising across all assigned Bags City stores and department store counters within the Surabaya region.
  • Branch Office Leadership: Manage and provide direction to the Surabaya branch office teams (Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, HR, General Affairs), ensuring efficient workflow and alignment with company goals.
  • Sales & Performance: Develop and implement regional strategies to achieve sales targets, profitability goals, and market share growth. Analyze performance data and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, motivate, and manage the regional retail and office teams. Foster a positive, collaborative, and performance-driven work environment.
  • Merchandising & Inventory: Collaborate with the merchandising team to ensure optimal stock levels, product assortment, and inventory management across all stores.
  • Marketing Coordination: Work with the marketing team to implement regional marketing initiatives and promotions effectively.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage the regional budget, control expenses, and ensure financial targets are met. Oversee branch financial reporting and processes.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all stores and office operations adhere to company policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Market Awareness: Monitor local market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities and challenges specific to the Surabaya region.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Retail Management, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Branch Manager, Area Manager, or similar multi-unit retail management role (minimum 3-5 years preferred).
  • Experience managing diverse teams, including both retail sales staff and office-based functional departments (HR, Finance, Marketing, etc.).
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales, managing budgets, and achieving operational targets in a retail environment.
  • Experience within the retail sector, ideally with fashion, accessories, or travel-related goods, is highly advantageous.
  • Experience managing operations across both standalone stores and department store concessions is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Solid understanding of retail operations, KPIs, merchandising, and inventory management.
  • Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and P&L management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with retail management software.
  • Results-driven and commercially focused.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Surabaya, with a good understanding of the local market dynamics.
