GarudaFood is a food and beverage company subordinated to Tudung Group. In addition to GarudaFood, Tudung Group also has subsidiaries in Agribusiness companies operating in the Crude Palm Oil field and Peanuts.
GarudaFood Group originated from PT Tudung, established in Pati, Central Java. The company founder is the deceased Darmo Putro, an ex-warrior who chose to engage in the business sector after the independence of Indonesia. In early 1987, TPJ started selling its peanut production products under the brand of Kacang Garing Garuda, which is now known as Kacang Garuda. Kacang Garuda has earned multiple awards including the Indonesian Customer Satisfaction Award (ICSA) for eight consecutive years (2000-2007) and the Indonesian Best Brand Award (IBBA) from 2004-2007.
In December 1997, PT GarudaFood Jaya (GFJ) was established, producing Gery-branded biscuits. Gery Saluut earned the Indonesian Best Brand Award (IBBA) from MARS and SWA Magazine from 2005-2010. In 1998, GarudaFood acquired PT Triteguh Manunggal Sejati (TRMS), producer of jelly products under the brands of Okky and Keffy, which have also won various awards.
GarudaFood has also launched several successful products such as Mountea, a fruit-flavored tea beverage, and snacks under the Leo brand. The company actively performs corporate social responsibility (CSR) under GarudaFood Sehati. In 2011, GarudaFood Group established a subsidiary PT Garuda Suntory Beverage in collaboration with Suntory Beverage & Food from Japan, focusing on beverage development.
