Job Responsibilities
As the BIM Manager & Technical Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the BIM strategy, technical standards, and digital design workflows across all projects. You will grow and lead a multi-disciplinary technical team, ensuring the successful integration of BIM, computatoonal design, and digital fabrication—particularly for natural material-based structures. Your leadership will bridge design, engineering, and fabrication, driving efficiency, innovation, and sustainability at every stage of the architectural process.
- Develop and implement digital design processes, BIM standards, protocols, and workflows specifically tailored to architecture using organic and natural materials.
- Create project-specific BIM Implementation and Execution Plans (BIPs and BEPs) to ensure efficient integration of BIM tools and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
- Promote and integrate AI-powered design tools, generative modeling, and automated fabrication techniques into the design process.
- Lead and mentor the technical team to ensure timely project delivery and uphold technical excellence.
- Supervise workflows from design through construction, improving digital-to-physical fabrication methods for architectural components.
- Provide expertise in managing complex geometries and parametric structures using tools like Rhino, Grasshopper, Kangaroo, and Dynamo.
- Encourage strong collaboration among architects, engineers, fabricators, and sustainability specialists.
- Manage coordination among architectural, structural, and MEP teams within a BIM environment.
- Streamline material usage and fabrication processes to align with principles of sustainability and regenerative design.
- Use data-driven methods to evaluate carbon footprint, lifecycle performance, and material efficiency.
- Conduct clash detection, model validation, and construction sequencing using Revit, Navisworks, and computational tools.
- Organize and lead BIM training sessions, workshops, and mentoring programs for staff.
- Investigate and implement emerging technologies such as AI in BIM, digital twins, and robotic fabrication.
- Research innovative bamboo construction methods, parametric joinery, and material-aware design strategies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Computational Design, or Engineering.
- Over 5 years of experience in BIM management and leading technical teams within design-driven architectural firms.
- Proficient in Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, Navisworks, and Dynamo.
- Advanced skills in computational design, parametric modeling, and digital fabrication.
- Experience with natural, sustainable materials and construction methods.
- Familiarity with cloud collaboration tools like BIM 360, Speckle, and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities.
