Job description

Company Description: Provider of Hotel and Marine Personnel to International Cruise Lines, Commercial Shipping and Hotels Worldwide.

Job Description:
  1. Assist in the set-up and execution of F&B related ship functions and special events.
  2. Tally all sales transactions and correctly follow accounting procedures; accurately tally bar revenue.
  3. Maintain in-depth knowledge of all Bar Menus to deliver exceptional STAR Service at all times.
  4. Prepare and serve drinks according to company standards, ensuring correct recipes are followed.
  5. Control costs, adhere to budgets, conduct stock takes and inventory, and ensure proper storage of stock with established par levels.
  6. Set up assigned areas as directed by Supervisors and in accordance with Viking’s Operations Manuals and SOPs.
  7. Follow service procedures according to SOPs, Departmental Service Standards, and Public Health Policies.
  8. Prepare and operate F&B activities across outlets, including beverage outlets, ensuring standards are met.
  9. Minimize equipment loss/damage, maintain cleanliness, and apply safe working policies, including proper sanitation and equipment return.
  10. Ensure mise-en-place is prepared 15 minutes prior to service.
  11. Participate in embarkation duties such as luggage assistance, guest escorting, and loadings as directed.
  12. Engage in daily team meetings to understand operational needs and uphold STAR Service Standards.
  13. Provide high-level, sales-oriented service, maintaining impeccable cleanliness and hygiene standards, and preparing for guest flow and activities.
  14. Wear appropriate PPE and use proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
  15. Uphold grooming standards and Viking’s Image and Uniform Standards.
  16. Secure company property during rough weather to prevent loss or damage.
  17. Demonstrate flexibility by working at different times, under pressure, with a positive attitude.
  18. Gain knowledge about ports of call, shore excursions, and shipboard activities.
  19. Motivated to achieve company goals for the Bar Department.
  20. Understand safety & security procedures, participate in training, and adhere to all policies.
  21. Assist other departments and perform additional duties as instructed by supervisors.
