Job Description:
- Assist in the set-up and execution of F&B related ship functions and special events.
- Tally all sales transactions and correctly follow accounting procedures; accurately tally bar revenue.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of all Bar Menus to deliver exceptional STAR Service at all times.
- Prepare and serve drinks according to company standards, ensuring correct recipes are followed.
- Control costs, adhere to budgets, conduct stock takes and inventory, and ensure proper storage of stock with established par levels.
- Set up assigned areas as directed by Supervisors and in accordance with Viking’s Operations Manuals and SOPs.
- Follow service procedures according to SOPs, Departmental Service Standards, and Public Health Policies.
- Prepare and operate F&B activities across outlets, including beverage outlets, ensuring standards are met.
- Minimize equipment loss/damage, maintain cleanliness, and apply safe working policies, including proper sanitation and equipment return.
- Ensure mise-en-place is prepared 15 minutes prior to service.
- Participate in embarkation duties such as luggage assistance, guest escorting, and loadings as directed.
- Engage in daily team meetings to understand operational needs and uphold STAR Service Standards.
- Provide high-level, sales-oriented service, maintaining impeccable cleanliness and hygiene standards, and preparing for guest flow and activities.
- Wear appropriate PPE and use proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
- Uphold grooming standards and Viking’s Image and Uniform Standards.
- Secure company property during rough weather to prevent loss or damage.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working at different times, under pressure, with a positive attitude.
- Gain knowledge about ports of call, shore excursions, and shipboard activities.
- Motivated to achieve company goals for the Bar Department.
- Understand safety & security procedures, participate in training, and adhere to all policies.
- Assist other departments and perform additional duties as instructed by supervisors.
