Job Description:
- Assist in the setup and execution of F&B related ship functions and special events.
- Tally all sales transactions and follow proper accounting procedures; accurately record bar revenue.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of all Bar Menus to deliver exceptional STAR Service at all times.
- Prepare and serve drinks according to company standards, following correct recipes.
- Control costs and adhere to budgets; conduct stock takes and inventory in line with company procedures; ensure proper storage of stock and establish par levels.
- Set up assigned areas as directed by Supervisors and adhere to Viking’s Operations Manuals and SOPs.
- Follow service procedures according to SOPs, Departmental Service Standards, and Public Health Policies.
- Manage F&B activities across outlets, ensuring all are prepared and executed per company standards.
- Minimize equipment loss/damage and maintain high cleanliness standards, applying safe working policies and ensuring equipment sanitation and proper storage after each use.
- Prepare mise-en-place for all responsibilities 15 minutes prior to service.
- Participate in embarkation duties, including luggage assistance, guest escorting, and loadings as directed.
- Engage in daily team meetings (“The Daily Reunion”) to align operational needs and uphold Viking’s STAR Service Standards.
- Provide high-quality, sales-oriented service to guests, maintaining impeccable cleanliness and hygiene standards, and preparing for guest flow, embarkation/disembarkation, and activities.
- Wear appropriate PPE as required and use correct lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
- Uphold grooming standards in line with Viking’s Image and Uniform Standards.
- Secure company property during rough weather to prevent loss or damage.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts, working under pressure, and maintaining a positive attitude and professional image.
- Gain knowledge about ports of call, shore excursions, and onboard activities.
- Motivated to achieve company goals for quality and financial performance in the Bar Department.
- Understand safety and security procedures, participate in training, and comply with all health, safety, and security policies.
- Assist other departments and perform additional duties as instructed by supervisors.
