Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
- Greet guests, present menu, assist with guest choices, make suggestions, take orders, and serve food & beverages according to standard procedures.
- Set up the bar at the start of opening, including liquor, ice, glassware, juices, and garnishes.
- Process drink orders in proper calling order directly from service staff, check for correct number of drinks, and manage billing efficiently.
- Make all cocktails in accordance with beverage standards, using full standard measures.
- Limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking by persuading customers to stop drinking or arranging transportation for intoxicated patrons.
- Ensure the bar is stocked and all opening and closing duties are completed.
- Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
- Assist with cleanup tasks such as mopping floors, removing cans and bottles, and cleaning rails and counters.
- Check on guest satisfaction, attend to guest needs and complaints, and follow up appropriately by informing management or senior team leaders.
- Present checks, perform cashiering functions, bid guests farewell, and invite them to return.
- Maintain cleanliness of the workplace by performing clearing functions.
- Attend all meetings and training sessions.
- Perform food runner duties as required.
- Answer phone calls.
- Carry out light cleaning and maintenance of the bar/restaurant.
- Dispense beverages.
- Take table reservations and control guest flow in the restaurant.
- Comply with hotel and department policies and procedures at all times.
- Implement work simplification and necessary changes.
- Ensure mise-en-place is prepared before each shift.
- Follow up on proper billing procedures.

- Know product items, preparation methods, ingredients, sauces, portion sizes, garnishes, presentation, and prices.
- Understand bar layout, table and station numbers, proper setup, room capacity, hours of operation, price range, and dress code.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a Bartender.
- Extensive knowledge of beverages, liquors, and infusions.
- Strong skills in handling guest challenges and opportunities.
- Experience in a luxury 5-star environment is essential.
