Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Services Professional to deliver technical support and operational expertise for refinery chemical treatment programs. You will monitor and optimize chemical applications, conduct field visits, and provide technical solutions to improve efficiency and asset reliability.

In this role, you will perform laboratory testing, prepare reports, and collaborate with operations, laboratory, and commercial teams while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in oil & gas production chemicals, water treatment chemicals, or refinery chemical programs.
• Experience with refinery operations preferred.
• Knowledge of chemical dosing systems and treatment optimization.
• Experience in laboratory testing and chemical analysis.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and optimize refinery chemical treatment programs to maximize operational effectiveness and process efficiency.
• Conduct field visits, technical inspections, and site assessments to evaluate treatment performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Troubleshoot production and chemical-related issues through structured root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Perform laboratory testing and chemical analyses to support operational decision-making.
• Prepare technical reports, performance evaluations, and treatment recommendations for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Provide customers with technical guidance and chemical recommendations to improve refinery performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with refinery operations, laboratory, and sales teams to develop and implement effective chemical treatment solutions.
• Ensure compliance with company, customer, safety, health, and environmental regulations across all activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing chemical program performance and operational excellence.

The Services Professional is responsible for delivering technical support and operational expertise for refinery chemical treatment programs. This role focuses on monitoring and optimizing chemical applications, troubleshooting process-related challenges, and providing field-based technical solutions that improve operational efficiency, asset reliability, and regulatory compliance. Working closely with customers, laboratory teams, operations personnel, and commercial stakeholders, the position plays a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of refinery chemical solutions.

As a Services Professional, you will be responsible for:

• Monitoring and optimizing refinery chemical treatment programs to maximize operational effectiveness and process efficiency.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.


• Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Oil & Gas production chemicals, water treatment chemicals, or refinery chemical programs.


• Demonstrate experience working with refinery operations; this is preferred.


• Possess knowledge of chemical dosing systems, treatment optimization, and refinery chemical application practices.


• Have experience in laboratory testing, chemical analysis, and interpretation of technical results.


• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.


• Possess a solid understanding of refinery production systems, process equipment, and operational requirements.


• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate and resolve complex technical challenges.


• Demonstrate effective communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.


• Be comfortable working directly with customers and providing technical support and recommendations.


• Show strong project management, collaboration, and teamwork capabilities.


• Have the ability to work independently and effectively in remote field environments.
