Job summary

NTT DATA in Jakarta is seeking an Associate Software Development Engineer who is early in their career to design, develop, and test software systems for enhancements and new products including cloud-based tools.

You will collaborate across teams to design modules, build RESTful APIs, optimize databases, and apply secure coding practices while learning modern backend architectures in a fast-paced, diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience developing backend services using Java with Spring Boot
• Strong understanding of SQL and experience working with relational databases
• Experience building and maintaining backend services using JavaScript / Node.js
• Able to translate business and technical requirements into backend solutions
• Familiarity with modern backend architecture (REST APIs, microservices)

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
• Develop and manage RESTful APIs or GraphQL to support front-end features.
• Design and optimize database schemas (SQL or NoSQL) for scalability and performance.
• Implement security and data protection settings.
• Collaborate with Front-End developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
• Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding, debugging, and unit testing.
