Job Description
The Sourcing Procurement AVP will be responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of IT-related technologies, software, platforms, and services. This role requires a deep understanding of the AI market, software knowledge, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and acquire solutions that meet the company's evolving technological needs. The ideal candidate will also champion the use of AI tools and techniques to optimize the overall procurement process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing for IT Solutions:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for AI technologies, including but not limited to machine learning (ML) platforms, natural language processing (NLP) tools, AI-powered analytics software, cloud-based AI services, and AI-specific hardware.
- Conduct market research to identify and evaluate potential local and international AI vendors, software vendors, hardware suppliers, and service providers relevant to the telecom industry.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI technology and market trends to ensure access to cutting-edge solutions.
- Procurement Process Management:
- Manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for IT solutions, from requirement gathering, RFx development, proposal evaluation, to contract negotiation and award.
- Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, SLAs, and contractual conditions for AI procurements.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and other procurement documentation.
- Vendor Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key IT vendors and technology partners.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
- Address and resolve vendor-related issues or disputes promptly.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal teams such as IT, Engineering, Data Science, Legal, and Finance to understand their technology needs.
- Provide guidance on AI sourcing best practices and market insights.
- AI in Procurement:
- Identify opportunities and support the implementation of AI-powered tools and methodologies to enhance procurement efficiency, such as spend analytics, supplier risk assessment, and contract automation.
- Cost Optimization and Risk Management:
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or strategic goals.
- Analyze and mitigate sourcing risks, including data security, intellectual property, and vendor lock-in.
- Reporting and Analytics:
- Track procurement metrics like cost savings, supplier performance, and cycle times.
- Use data analytics to inform sourcing decisions and drive continuous improvement.
