Job summary

A manufacturing company in Pekalongan, Indonesia, is seeking an Automation Engineer to lead the development and implementation of automation systems. Job description

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of automation systems in the factory.
  • Manage team of engineers/technicians to execute automation projects and troubleshooting.
  • Identify opportunities for automation to improve productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Design and oversee the installation of automated equipment, robotics, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Collaborate with Production, EHS, IE, and CI teams to ensure automation projects align with business needs.
  • Develop standard work instructions, preventive maintenance plans, and training for operators/technicians.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and reporting to management.
  • Drive innovation by exploring new technologies (IoT, robotics, data integration) for manufacturing excellence.
  • Support audits, customer visits, and technical presentations related to automation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related fields.
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in automation or manufacturing engineering (leadership experience preferred).
  • Fresh graduates with strong leadership and people management skills will be considered.
  • Excellent English language skills are preferred (both written and spoken).
  • Strong knowledge in PLC programming, robotics, sensors, and industrial control systems.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD / SolidWorks for mechanical and electrical design.
  • Strong project management skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
