Job summary

dsm-firmenich is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated control systems at our Karawang office. You will program PLCs, troubleshoot automation issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions driving efficiency, quality, and safety in manufacturing.

The role reports to the Engineering & Maintenance Manager and requires 2+ years in industrial automation, with PLC/HMI/SCADA experience and knowledge of industrial networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems.
• Proficient in PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron).
• Experience with HMI/SCADA systems (WinCC, FactoryTalk, iFIX).
• Knowledge of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus).
• Familiarity with safety systems (SIL, machine guarding).

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems.
• Develop and implement automation solutions for production lines and equipment.
• Analyze production processes to identify opportunities for automation and optimization.
• Maintain documentation for control systems, wiring diagrams, and software.
• Participate in commissioning and validation of new automated systems.
• Follow Health, Safety & Environment policies and applicable GMP if relevant.

Key Responsibilities:

Follows and implement Health, Safety & Environment policies/procedures, Food safety and Quality, including GMP if applicable

Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems

Develop and implement automation solutions for production lines and equipment

Analyze production processes to identify opportunities for automation and optimization

Maintain documentation for control systems, wiring diagrams, and software

Participate in commissioning and validation of new automated systems

You bring:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field

2+ years of experience in industrial automation or control systems

Proficient in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron)
