Position Overview

RecruitGo is looking for a AU Accounting Supervisor who plays a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely completion of Client Accounting and Taxation requirements while mentoring junior team members within the Client Work division. The role also involves assisting with billing management, workflow allocation, and supporting the Division Director.

This position requires strong technical knowledge in accounting and taxation, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to the firm’s Client Service Culture. The Accounting Supervisor is expected to foster effective client relationships, identify opportunities for value-added services, and contribute to a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and interpret tax legislation, including exposure to tax planning concepts such as Division 7A (Income Tax Assessment Act 1936).
  • Apply an intermediate to moderate understanding of trust rules in the Income Tax Assessment Acts (1936 & 1997).
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Assist with client onboarding and engagement agreements.
  • Manage budgets and adhere to deadlines effectively.
  • Summarise and present financial and tax information clearly and efficiently.
  • Provide technical expertise while delivering timely, high-quality professional services.
  • Support WGCAUS in building long-term client relationships, identifying opportunities for improved client care.
  • Contribute to a holistic and multidisciplinary approach to client service.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering professionalism and rapport.
  • Use accounting and business software (Microsoft Office, Xero, and other firm-approved platforms).
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Studying toward CAANZ or CPA membership.
  • 5–7 years’ experience in an accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general tax/accounting issues.
  • Ability to collect, organise, and summarise information effectively.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet budgets/deadlines.
  • Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
