Job Description:
ADMINISTRATION
- Responsible for the department's administration, including maintaining an efficient filing system.
- Ensure all operational documents are up to date and correctly filed, including compliance certificates and inspection reports.
- Prepare and submit reports timely.
- Maintain manuals, parts lists, and up-to-date drawings of all equipment and systems.
- Align engineering activities with corporate strategy and hotel actions.
- Represent the engineering function on the hotel's Executive Committee.
- Oversee the preparation and updating of departmental manuals.
- Conduct departmental meetings and briefings effectively.
STRATEGIC
- Develop safety systems and procedures for guests, staff, equipment, and property.
- Define and ensure adherence to maintenance service standards.
- Prepare and follow preventive maintenance schedules.
- Manage budgeting for all engineering expenditures.
- Identify and develop new equipment and environmentally friendly systems.
- Create strategies for energy optimization.
SYSTEM
- Guide daily hotel operations and liaise with government agencies for compliance.
- Prepare budgets for capital and R&M projects.
- Recommend improvements in methods, equipment, and staffing.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments.
- Ensure policies are followed and standards are met.
- Monitor performance indicators and manage inventory and legal matters.
Customer Service
- Deliver exceptional guest service and internal customer support.
- Handle guest and internal complaints courteously and efficiently.
- Manage engineering budgets and monitor expenditures.
- Optimize costs while maintaining service quality.
- Control utilities and fuel deliveries efficiently.
- Promote employee multi-skilling and strategic performance analysis.
Operational
- Supervise engineering staff and delegate responsibilities.
- Implement preventive maintenance and supervise special projects.
- Manage inventories, emergency procedures, and safety systems.
- Inspect facilities regularly and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate with security and other departments for emergency planning.
- Maintain property, grounds, and oversee renovations.
Personnel
- Oversee recruitment, training, and development of engineering staff.
- Ensure staff appearance and hygiene standards.
- Conduct performance reviews and support professional growth.
