Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Coastal, Structural, Geotechnical, Ocean, Port, Mechanical, Naval Architecture, Transport Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Around 15+ years of experience in maritime infrastructure or engineering consultancy, including leadership of multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven success in business development, client management, and project delivery.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Leadership in digital transformation, BIM, GIS, and AI-enabled engineering.
• Professional fluency in English; Bahasa Indonesia is highly desirable.
• Chartered or Professional Engineer registration is an advantage.

The Associate Director Advisory Group - Maritime is the senior leader for Haskoning Indonesia's Maritime team and a member of the Water & Maritime Advisory Group leadership team. Within delegated authority, the role is accountable for the strategy, people, market position, commercial performance, technical quality, innovation and delivery outcomes of the Maritime portfolio.

What will you do as Associate Director for Maritime

You will lead a multidisciplinary team that may include specialists in oceanography and metocean, coastal engineering, hydrography and bathymetry, structural and geotechnical engineering, port master planning, navigation and ship manoeuvring, marine transport and logistics, digital systems/BIM/GIS, project and financial control, sustainability, and related disciplines as the portfolio evolves.

The successful candidate is not expected to be the leading specialist in every discipline, but must have the breadth, judgement and curiosity to connect them, ask the right questions, make sound decisions and create the conditions in which technical experts can excel.

The role combines trusted-adviser presence with entrepreneurial drive. You will shape markets, win the right work, protect Haskoning's commercial and professional position, and represent the company with senior government, port, corporate and investment stakeholders. You will also lead the responsible adoption of AI and digital methods, ensuring that innovation improves quality, productivity and insight without replacing human engineering accountability.
