Job description

About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use): 12

As Consulting Associate Director, being part of our Chemicals consulting business, your role is to leverage your experience, knowledge, insights, and analysis, along with S&P’s knowledge base, to develop sustainable, profitable bespoke consulting services. Promoting S&P’s expertise and establishing yourself as a professional expert are essential to this role.

The Impact: This role is pivotal in advancing our consulting and advisory business through the provision of bespoke services, including developing proposals, managing projects, and delivering engagements to clients. The ability to work independently in negotiating and executing consulting engagements is required.

What’s in it for you: You will have the opportunity to develop new bespoke chemical consulting business for Indonesian clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full process from client relationship building, opportunity identification, proposal development, closing sales, to delivering work.
  • Pursue new leads from various channels and convert them into consulting engagements.
  • Prepare high-quality proposals, requiring clear communication skills and analytical creativity to meet client needs and maximize service delivery.
  • Support and manage delivery on all aspects of consulting engagements.
  • Lead project teams and perform analytical work independently, including working on spreadsheet models and synthesizing industry insights to meet client requirements.
  • Summarize findings into concise reports and presentations for clients.
  • Maintain knowledge of various chemical sectors for effective client interaction.
  • Work collaboratively across the organization at multiple levels, utilizing resources and knowledge efficiently, demonstrating strong teamwork.
What We’re Looking For:
  • 15+ years of experience working with major Indonesian companies or equivalent in business planning, development, or strategy within the chemical industry.
  • Knowledge of chemical process technologies is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience managing large, complex chemical studies.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Chemical Engineering or Chemistry Bachelor’s Degree; an MBA in finance, marketing, or strategy is a major plus.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, public speaking, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively at multiple levels within client organizations.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, including internationally.
