Job Description
- Perform daily operations as detailed in Run Books and other technical documents provided during training.
- Support all crew members in maintaining their workstations, including PCs, point of sale terminals, cabling systems, servers, and related hardware, in collaboration with the Systems Manager.
- Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and repair PC and printer hardware.
- Respond promptly to user requests during normal working hours; extended hours may be required for critical systems support.
- Follow directions from the Systems Manager to fulfill responsibilities and assignments.
- Provide basic user training and support for common PC software and specialized property management software as needed.
- Support guest-facing technical equipment, including telephones, TVs, and Digital Signage.
- Assist guests with device troubleshooting, WiFi connection issues, and the Viking Voyager App.
- Serve as the IT Guest liaison to ensure guest comfort with Viking IT products.
- Keep the Leadership Team informed of IT issues and policies affecting shipboard operations.
- Participate daily in "The Daily Reunion" to understand operational needs and uphold Viking’s STAR Service Standards.
- Wear appropriate, task-specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and use correct lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
- Maintain impeccable grooming standards according to Viking’s Image and Uniform Standards.
- Secure company property, especially during rough weather, to prevent loss or damage.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working at different times, under pressure, and maintaining a positive attitude, representing Viking professionally.
- Acquire knowledge about ports of call, shore excursions, and shipboard activities such as events, entertainment, and programs.
- Motivate to achieve the company’s quality and financial goals for the IT Department.
- Understand safety and security procedures, comply with all policies, and participate in required training, including safety drills and evacuation exercises.
- Perform a full inventory cycle of the assigned store twice a month before full loading.
