About the role

Assistant Product Manager role at Asia Pulp and Paper is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading global consumer pulp & paper company. Based in Karawang, West Java, you will play a key part in the development and management of paper-based packaging products for the company's diverse customers.

What you'll be doing

1. Support the Product Manager in the definition and execution of the product strategy for paper-based packaging solutions and bridging to Mill's production
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse market intelligence, identify customer needs and develop new product concepts
3. Assist in the creation of product specifications, prototypes and samples for customer evaluation
4. Monitor product performance and competition, and provide recommendations for product improvements and innovations
5. Support the commercialisation of new products, including pricing, positioning, marketing content and launch activities
6. Contribute to the development and maintenance of product catalogues, technical documentation and other commercial materials
7. Respond to customer inquiries and provide technical support as needed

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably a relevant technical discipline
2. Min. 5 years of experience in a product management or product development role, preferably in the paper packaging industry, having knowledge of Ivory Duplex is an advantage
3. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and customer insights
4. Strong technical aptitude and understanding of paper-based packaging materials and manufacturing processes
5. Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to liaise with cross-functional teams and customers
6. Proficient in MS Office suite and experience with product lifecycle management tools
7. Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive and collaborative work style
