Job Title: Assistant Manager (Mandarin Translator)
Location: Gresik project site
Reports to: Manager / Department Head

Job Purpose:

To support cross-cultural communication and collaboration by providing accurate and effective Mandarin-English translation services (written and verbal), while also assisting in managerial and administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth business operations with Mandarin-speaking partners or clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Translation and Interpretation

1. Translate official documents, emails, reports, technical manuals, and other materials from Mandarin to English and vice versa.
2. Provide real-time interpretation during meetings, video conferences, site visits, or negotiations.
3. Ensure high-quality and contextually appropriate translations.

Cross-Functional Communication Support

1. Act as a communication bridge between local staff and Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
2. Assist in preparing bilingual presentations and reports.

Administrative and Managerial Support

1. Assist the manager in daily operations, coordination tasks, and project tracking.
2. Monitor project timelines, prepare meeting minutes, and follow up on action items.
3. Coordinate with internal departments and external parties to ensure information accuracy.

Documentation and Record Keeping

1. Maintain a database of translated documents and communication logs.
2. Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mandarin Language, Translation, International Business, or related field.
2. Proven experience as a translator or interpreter (Mandarin-English).
3. Strong command of both written and spoken Mandarin and English.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Able to join immediately.
6. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
7. Knowledge of industry-specific knowledge, e.g., engineering, manufacturing, finance, etc. is a plus.
