Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced accountant to lead the finance function for Indonesia, contributing to the South-East Asia region.

The role requires 10+ years in finance, strong accounting knowledge, and a professional qualification such as CPA/ACCA. Proficiency in English and Excel is essential, with Dynamics 365 experience a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years in a finance role.
• Strong accounting standards knowledge and financial statement prep.
• CPA / ACCA or equivalent qualification.
• Experience with SOX controls and Dynamics 365 advantageous.
• Experience in a dynamic, matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end financial accounting for Indonesia including month-end closing, journal adjustments, reconciliations.
• Prepare and submit monthly management accounts and related schedules for Group reporting.
• Review vendor invoices/expenses; initiate payments.
• Review client invoices/credit notes; monitor collections and costs.
• File sales tax returns; assist with tax computations and filings.
• Interact with external auditors; provide information and schedules for audits.
• Assist with annual budgets, expense run rates, and monthly P&L forecasts.
• Prepare weekly cash flow statements and coordinate with teams.
• Act as finance systems champion for SEA and support related tasks.

Job Description

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced accountant to help run the finance function for Indonesia which contributes significantly to our South-East Asia region.

• Manage end-to-end financial accounting for Indonesia which includes performing month-end accounting closing, including but not limited to journal adjustments, bank reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliation schedules, revenue recognition reports.
• Preparation and submission of monthly management accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet) and related schedules as a part of Group reporting. Presentation of results and providing clarifications to the Country/Regional business Leaders, as and when needed.
• Review vendor invoices and expenses processed by our offshore services team, and ensuring accounting is accurate and acceptable. Initiate vendor payments through internet banking.
• Review client invoices and credit notes with attention to values, timeliness of collections, associated costs in earning the revenue, potential accruals and deferrals of income.
• Responsible for filing sales tax returns (GST/SST/VAT/WHT). Working closely with the tax advisors to finalize tax computations and filing necessary tax returns.
• Interact with External Auditors for interim and annual audit – provide information and schedules for audit, drive efficiencies from the finance service provider and external auditors, and provide explanations to ensure smooth and timely audits.
• Assist with preparation of annual budgets, expense utilization run rates, submission of monthly P&L forecasts, timesheet and payroll cost monitoring.
• Preparation of cash flow statements on weekly basis, align with business teams and credit control team to execute related strategies from senior management.
• To become the finance systems’ champion and a finance subject matter expert to our business teams in SEA. Perform any other finance tasks as assigned from time to time by the Manager.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of prior experience working in finance role.
• Strong accounting standards knowledge and preparation of financial statements.
• CPA / ACCA or any equivalent accounting professional qualification.
• Experience with SOX controls and Dynamics 365 will be an advantage.
• Experienced working in a dynamic, fast-paced, matrix organizational structure.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Fluent in English language (both spoken and written).
• Bahasa language proficiency would be an advantage.
• Excellent oral and written communications and organizational skills.
• Independent and resourceful in managing daily tasks and stakeholders.
• Resilient and strong tenacity in handling challenging situations and timelines.
• Eagerness to be hands-on with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Show enthusiasm in learning, driving continuous improvements in the role.
