Assistant Director of Weddings and MICE - Six Senses Uluwatu Bali

As the Assistant Director of Weddings and MICE, I will fully understand the vision of Six Senses to help people reconnect with themselves, others, and the world around them. Duties and Responsibilities

As the Assistant Director of Weddings and MICE, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the Weddings and MICE section to provide exceptional products and services within the brand's operating standards. My key role is to identify prospective customers and establish goals for key accounts by analyzing historical and other statistical information for market segments, account mix goals, etc.

The duties and responsibilities include:

  • Supervision and overall responsibility for Event Strategy and Operations, including maintaining and monitoring the accuracy and effectiveness of all written communication from the Sales Manager of Wedding & MICE to the Wedding & MICE Manager and Event Coordinator. This includes proposals, LOA/Contracts, Turnover files, Banquet Event Orders, Group Resumes, Weekly Events Report, and Zero Balance Report for post-event reporting.
  • Proactively prospect, develop, and maintain local Wedding & MICE corporate and partner accounts through calls, trade shows, and on-site entertainment.
  • Supervise banquet event execution, review all function spaces with the banquet manager, and ensure client satisfaction at all events.
  • Participate in and/or attend meetings with hotel staff and clients, such as Operations Briefings, Banquet Meetings, Sales Meetings, Site Visits, etc.
  • Assist with inquiries within sales, marketing, and Wedding & MICE departments, including handling high call volumes and walk-in inspections.
  • Understand Conference Services and assume an active role when required.
  • Serve as the liaison for vendor/supplier needs, including AV, florists, entertainment, transportation, DMC, and off-site locations.
  • Contribute to weekly and monthly financial forecasts, summaries, and the annual marketing plan and budget.
  • Maintain an active presence in the local community to generate new business, recruit talent, and support public relations.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of Banquet Event Order and Resume meetings periodically.
  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Assistant Director of Weddings and MICE role, candidates should have:

  • Some college education plus 1-2 years of sales or related experience, or equivalent education and experience. A bachelor’s degree in hospitality, marketing, hotel management, or business management with over five years of senior sales and marketing experience is preferred.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • At least five years of experience as a Wedding & MICE or Conference Services Manager in a full-service resort or hotel.
  • Basic knowledge of AV equipment, internet, and telecommunications technology.
  • Knowledge of Sales and Wedding & MICE software.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, email, and internet use.
  • High creativity in food and beverage menu proposals.
  • Successful interpersonal skills and client interaction experience.
  • Coaching and people development abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Indonesian citizenship.
