About Us

TMP Public is an international non-profit company that solves complex social and environmental problems. Our priority is improving preparedness for climate impacts on our institutions, systems, and lives over the next decade. We work with foundations, consultancies, businesses, NGOs, and governments to deliver concrete on local adaptation and resilience, biodiversity protection, food security and infrastructure planning.

The Role

We are looking for a responsible, organized, and motivated person to join our team of Analysts. TMP Analysts provide quantitative and qualitative research and analysis, while driving and developing significant aspects of our projects, including engaging with partners and delivering projects and events.

The primary responsibility of the job will be to lead TMP’s work in Indonesia. Key tasks include:

  1. Investigating local resilience and adaptation actions in response to climate change, critical mineral supply chains, and to a lesser extent food supply chains and biodiversity issues.
  2. Identifying possible partners and outreach targets, conducting fieldwork and engaging with a broad range of stakeholder groups, including the private sector, NGOs, government, and academic institutions.
  3. Researching and producing briefs on a wide range of topics which are likely to be unfamiliar.
  4. Identifying, evaluating and preparing data for analysis, and creating supporting visualisations.
  5. Organising and conducting stakeholder engagement activities, such as conferences and workshops.
  6. Supporting the production of reports and presentation materials for external audiences across TMP’s various workstreams and regions of interest.

Additionally, this job’s responsibilities include providing organisational support for the company and for the implementation of projects on the ground in Indonesia. This job requires you to work independently and affords a high level of flexibility. The company is based in the UK but operates globally, with time zone challenges to match. This is an ideal role for an ambitious candidate looking for diverse international experience with an innovative company.

Qualifications and skills

  1. Strong analytical and research skills are required; a relevant degree is desirable (e.g. in geography, politics, economics, sociology, anthropology, development studies, regulation, mining).
  2. Native-level Bahasa Indonesia and fluency in English with the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, is required.
  3. Confidence in using IT (proficiency in MS Office is required, and additional skills such as with geoprocessing, statistical analysis or other relevant tools are highly desirable).
  4. Strong organisational skills are required to schedule meetings and to communicate effectively internally between TMP staff and externally with our diverse partner network.
  5. Willingness to travel, including to remote rural areas of Indonesia and other emerging markets.
  6. Experience in any one of local or international development, environmental management, climate, mining, data science or financial investment is preferred.
  7. Experience of remote working is preferred.
