Job description

We are seeking a candidate with a background in employee benefits, preferably from an insurance company or insurance broker. The primary responsibility of this role will be the placement of employee benefits, which includes negotiating insurance quotations, pricing, terms and conditions, and the services they propose.

The candidate will also handle any projects assigned by the team leader.

Projects will primarily focus on employee benefits, there may be instances where projects relate to products or employee benefit technology, such as process improvements or new systems. The candidate may be assigned as the point of contact for these projects.

We will count on you to:

  1. Collaborate with account managers and clients to understand their insurance needs and risk profiles.
  2. Conduct market research to identify potential insurers and coverage options that align with client needs.
  3. Prepare and present the Request for Proposal (RFP) template to insurance providers.
  4. Negotiate terms and conditions with insurers to secure optimal coverage for clients.
  5. Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers.
  6. Monitor market trends and changes to provide insight and advice to account managers.
  7. Assist in reviewing the insurance handbook and insurance policy documents for clients.
  8. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  9. Provide insurance proposal comparisons to the account manager according to the agreed timeline.
  10. Prepare and share placement documents with insurance providers.
  11. Collaborate with the operations team and account manager to ensure that the benefits and terms and conditions negotiated with insurers align with client requests and agreements.
  12. Participate in and achieve insurance broker certification.
  13. Be responsible for any projects in the MMB department assigned by the MMB Placement Leader.

What you need to have:

  1. Minimum Bachelor’s degree from any major.
  2. Minimum 3 years experiences in employee health benefit insurance product.

What makes you stand out?

  1. Experience in an insurance company or insurance broker as an account manager, underwriter, or placement analyst.
  2. Negotiation skill, communication skills, analytical thinking, problem solving, time management, attention to detail and adaptability.
  3. Insurance broker certification (APARI) is not mandatory, but candidates must agree to obtain this certification after joining.
