Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Placement team at Marsh. This role is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. It is a hybrid position requiring at least three days of work in the office each week.

The primary responsibility will be the placement of employee benefits, including negotiating insurance quotations, pricing, terms, and conditions, as well as managing related projects assigned by the team leader. Projects may focus on employee benefits, products, or employee benefit technology, such as process improvements or new systems, with the possibility of serving as the point of contact for these initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with account managers and clients to understand their insurance needs and risk profiles.
  • Conducting market research to identify potential insurers and coverage options.
  • Preparing and presenting RFP templates to insurance providers.
  • Negotiating terms and conditions with insurers to secure optimal coverage.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with insurance carriers.
  • Monitoring market trends to advise account managers.
  • Reviewing insurance documents for compliance and accuracy.
  • Providing proposal comparisons and sharing placement documents with insurers.
  • Ensuring alignment of benefits and terms with client requests.
  • Participating in and achieving insurance broker certification.
  • Managing assigned projects within the department.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from any major.
  • At least 3 years of experience in employee health benefit insurance products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in insurance companies or brokers as an account manager, underwriter, or placement analyst.
  • Skills in negotiation, communication, analysis, problem-solving, time management, attention to detail, and adaptability.
  • Insurance broker certification (APARI) is desirable; candidates should be willing to obtain it after joining.
