Job description

Overview

The Agro Field Supervisor (West Java) build and support aggregators/farmers network to produce seed and chip-stock that meet international standards of PepsiCo processing and farming SOPs. In short term focus on farmers development and left and shift of best practices to meet volume and quality KPIs on time and in full. In long term expand PepsiCo Agro footprint to new geographies in Indonesia.

Responsibilities

What you are responsible for:

• Under direction from Agro Lead, manage specific potato projects and programs
• Lead contract management and cost effectiveness at farm gate
• Manage aggregators of respective supply chain regions and oversee Aggregator-to-farmer agreement and relationship
• Help farmers in better crop management.
• Provide visibility of crop performance in the field and recommend corrective actions
• Help agro extended teams in potato variety field trials across Indonesia
• Farm advisory service and help farmers from sowing till harvesting and handling
• Field days, road shows and number of farmers activated in the cluster/village of operations
• Ensure that good agricultural practices are followed on the farms producing potatoes for PepsiCo
• Crop progress and visibility on volumes up or downside
• Participate in training and other forms of Best Practices transfer to the Indonesian farmers.
• Keep an eye on the competition activities and strategies.
• Expansion in new geographical areas to meet future challenges.
• Administrative responsibilities of warehouses (People, Food, personnel service, security, facilities, various system)

Qualifications

What you need to have:

• 5-8 years of experience in Agro field / farming / tracing.
• Must be a Graduated in Agricultural Sciences
• Experience in agriculture team management.
• Managerial experience of at least 2-3 years
• Compatible for teamwork/Team player
• Strong communication and high power of persuasion
• Having strong analytical skills and being result oriented
• High level of English competency
• Able to use MS Office programs. Soft hand on spreadsheet and Powerpoint
• Supplier / farmers’ development in West, Central and East Java for fresh supplies
• Capability enhancement of team, Aggregators, farmers and farm workers
• Must be very effective working in a start up, dynamic and fast pace environment and work with a sense of urgency
• Strong influence management and communication skills
• High levels of analytical skills, ability to use data to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities
• Ability to raise red flags for timely escalation of any upcoming opportunities/risks
• Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
• Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making
