Job Summary

The Agency Business Development professional is responsible for driving growth and expanding the client base of an insurance agency. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with potential clients, and developing strategies to increase revenue. The individual in this role works closely with the agency team to meet business development goals and effectively market the agency's services to potential clients.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or a related field (often preferred).
  • Previous experience in business development, sales, or a related role within the insurance industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with potential clients and build relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills to close deals and secure new business.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a business development role.
  • Ability to build and maintain a strong professional network within the insurance industry.
  • High ethical standards and integrity in handling client information and conducting business transactions.
Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients and business opportunities within the insurance industry.
  • Develop and implement strategies to generate leads and convert them into clients.
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential clients, understanding their insurance needs and presenting suitable insurance solutions.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet or exceed business development targets.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote the agency and establish connections with potential clients.
  • Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and presentations to prospective clients.
  • Identify and establish partnerships with other businesses and organizations to expand the agency's reach and client base.
  • Maintain a CRM system to track interactions with potential clients and manage the sales pipeline.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, providing regular reports to senior management.
  • Work closely with the agency's marketing, underwriting, and claims teams to ensure a cohesive approach to business development.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new insurance products, and sales techniques; provide training and support to other team members as needed.
