Job summary

Societe Generale Hong Kong is seeking a Communications Surveillance Compliance Officer to monitor and investigate alerts across Asia Pacific, ensuring alignment with local and regional regulations. You will collaborate with senior compliance officers, prepare detailed reports, and maintain robust surveillance records while guiding onshore and offshore teams.

The role requires strong analytical skills, fluency in English, and a proactive approach to delivering timely analyses.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Chinese (Traditional/Simplified), Cantonese or Mandarin a plus.
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Data management or related field.
• Experience in front office trading or LOD1 control role desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Curious, proactive, and able to deliver quality analysis on time.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary investigations into flagged communication alerts and prepare reports for local compliance and senior management.
• Utilize surveillance tools to analyze insider dealing, conflicts of interest, financial crime and non-market conduct issues.
• Investigate and escalate issues, coordinating with advisory compliance and business lines until resolution.
• Maintain accurate records of surveillance activities in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Promote robust communications surveillance framework across APAC, aligned with EMEA and AMER.
• Assist in data management, reconciliation, and reporting metrics for surveillance activities.
