Job summary

Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking in Asia-Pacific and Middle East seeks an experienced operational risk professional to drive the risk framework across the region. Based in Hong Kong, you will collaborate with Compliance, Cyber, Technology and Outsourcing teams to embed robust controls.

The role focuses on incident management, KRIs analysis, risk mapping, and reporting to Regulators and audits, while guiding junior risk correspondents and contributing to global risk initiatives.

Qualifications

Context of the Job

The objective is to assist the Asia-Pacific & Middle East (APME) Operational Risk team to pro-actively implement and embed the Operational Risk Management Framework in the Asia Pacific & Middle East region by ensuring that the operational risks are identified, consistently reported and managed across all business lines and support functions of the bank.

Scope

• The position has a regional coverage across APME, focusing on Corporate & Investment Banking operational risks (Global Trade, Treasury, Banking and Capital Markets) and will directly report to the Head of Operational Risk APME based in Hong Kong.

Main Responsibilities:

Supporting the Head of Operational Risk APME with the implementation and management of the Operational Risk Management Framework across APME through:

• Performing incident management / deep dive reviews / investigation and loss data collection following internal incidents, near misses and external events
• Perform trend analysis through review of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Control testing results
• Support the firm's risk mapping program and operational risk and control assessment process (RCA)
• Review and challenge 1st line assessment of operational risks as per New Product New Activity (NPNA) and non-standard transactions approval process and its proposed mitigating actions
• Prepare the APME Operational Risk reporting to Regulators or audits purposes.
• Contribute to the APME Operational Risk Committee, including preparing and presenting material / emerging Operational Risks
• Collaborate with the Global Operational Risk team on global projects and other initiatives to improve the Operational Risk framework, tools and processes
• Coordinate with other expert functions, including Compliance, Business Continuity, Cyber, Technology and Outsourcing
• Guide and train APME Operational Risk Correspondents on Operational Risk methodologies, procedures, tools and provide support where required.

Required Skills:

• University degree with at least 8 years of work experience in the financial services industry within business / non-financial risk management function (e.g. Operational/Tech controls, Business control, COO function, Internal Audit)
• Attained HKIB's Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) on Operational Risk Management (either AORP or CORP)
• Solid understanding and experience in operational / non-financial risk management with hands on experience to deploy AI tools to improve operational risk management activities
• Good understanding of Corporate and Investment Banking products and operational processes / practices within CIB (Capital Markets, Equities, Fixed Income and FX)
• Good critical thinking and analytical skills using Power BI, Power Automate, other AI tools with a keen eye for detail
• Team player with excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong influencing skills with ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong knowledge of AI / ML and experience in identifying, developing and implementing AI use cases to improve operational risk management processes.
• Programming experiences, such as Python or Alteryx, is an advantage.
