Job summary

The Edge Partnership - The Edge in Asia is seeking a VP-level professional to lead Client Services and Middle Office for a HK-based team with regional coverage. The role emphasizes managing hedge fund and institutional client relationships, onboarding, and sales support for synthetic equities.

You will coordinate with trading desks, risk, operations and technology, mentor juniors, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive client engagement using analytics.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in client servicing/middle office within prime brokerage, synthetic equities, or related investment banking divisions.
• Strong knowledge of equity swaps and synthetic financing structures.
• Proven track record in client onboarding and institutional sales support.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and interact with senior stakeholders.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or related field; MBA or CFA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with prime brokerage sales and trading teams to identify new business opportunities in synthetic equities.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks and internal risk policies.
• Mentor junior staff and represent client services in internal committees and external forums.
• Drive innovation in client engagement using technology and data analytics.

Our client is a well-established financial institution with a strong growth trajectory within Synthetic Equities space, with an already double-digit year on year growth figure. As a part of their continued growth, they are hiring an experienced individual to join them as VP- Client Services and Middle Office based in HK, with a regional coverage.

Client Services & Relationship Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for hedge funds and institutional clients trading synthetic equity products.
• Proactively resolve client issues, coordinating with trading desks, risk, operations, and technology teams.
• Build strong client relationships to enhance retention and identify growth opportunities.

Client Onboarding & Integration

• Lead onboarding of new synthetic equity clients, ensuring smooth account setup and operational readiness.
• Partner with legal, compliance, and operations to complete documentation, KYC, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide training and guidance on systems, reporting tools, and synthetic product workflows.
• Act as client advocate during onboarding, ensuring expectations are met and risks are mitigated.

Sales & Business Development

• Collaborate with prime brokerage sales and trading teams to identify new business opportunities in synthetic equities..
• Ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks (e.g., SFC, HKMA, SEC) and internal risk policies.
• Partner with compliance and legal teams to address client queries and audits.
• Maintain awareness of market, credit, and operational risks specific to synthetic equity products.
• Mentor junior staff, fostering a culture of accountability and client-first service.
• Represent client services in internal committees and external forums.
• Drive innovation in synthetic equity client engagement, leveraging technology and data analytics.

To be eligible for this role you will require:

• 8–12 years of experience in Client servicing/Middle office role within prime brokerage, synthetic equities, or related investment banking divisions.
• Strong knowledge of equity swaps, synthetic financing structures, and hedge fund strategies.
• Proven track record in client onboarding and institutional sales support.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
