Job summary

Hong Kong International School is seeking an Upper Primary Educational Assistant (Grade 3-5 Homeroom) to support teachers and students in an on-site learning environment in Hong Kong. The role involves instructional support, supervision, clerical tasks, and event coordination to ensure a productive classroom experience.

The Educational Assistant will assist in classroom activities, monitor student safety, and help prepare materials while collaborating with teachers and staff to foster inclusive

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal English skills; Cantonese or Mandarin a plus.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative to support a classroom and team.
• Proficiency with technology (Email, Calendars, Word, Excel, Microsoft 365, TEAMS); SIS a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to provide instructional assistance to students in small groups or whole class.
• Supervise students during recess, lunch, library, transitions and school activities.
• Assist with preparation of classroom materials and teaching resources; manage related clerical tasks.
• Plan and organize field trips and special events; support after school activities.
• Substitute for teachers when needed and participate in professional development.
