Job summary

Chubb European Group Ltd. seeks an Underwriter, Marine & Specialty to underwrite, administer and operate existing portfolios in Marine & Specialty business. A candidate with less experience will be considered for the position of Assistant Underwriter.

The role focuses on underwriting new business and portfolio development, assisting the team to generate opportunities while maintaining high service standards and adherence to underwriting guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review new submissions and renewals of Cargo, Freight Forwarder Liability, Hull and Fine and Specie risks within assigned authority limits
• Analyze all pertinent data to determine acceptability of risks according to underwriting standards
• Review endorsements on existing policies to identify changes in coverage or amounts
• Evaluate, accept, reject or modify risks within underwriting guidelines and authorities
• Promote Chubb coverage, products and services to the producers; maintain and promote satisfactory service relationship with producers to obtain underwriting information and new business
• Provide assistance on underwriting / administration matters to underwriting team and managers, where necessary

This position is principally responsible for underwriting, administration and operation of existing portfolios in Marine & Specialty business. Assist the team to generate new business with the focus on the development of the portfolios.

• Review new submission and renewals of Cargo, Freight Forwarder Liability, Hull and Fine and Specie risks within assigned authority limits
• Analyze all pertinent data to determine acceptability of risks according to established underwriting standards
• Review endorsements on existing policies to identify any change in original coverage or amounts
• Evaluate, accept, reject or modify risks within established underwriting guidelines and authorities
• Promote Chubb coverage, products and services to the producers; maintain and promote satisfactory service relationship with producer staff in order to obtain necessary underwriting information and obtain new / targeted business
• Provide assistance on underwriting / administration matters to underwriting team and managers, where necessary
