Job summary

We are seeking an experienced trader in Hong Kong to manage repo transactions in line with market conditions and our funding position.

The role involves collaborating with multiple internal stakeholders on system enhancement projects, testing, and system launches, as well as contributing to trading system development and policy formulation.

Qualifications

• University degree or above in Economics, Finance or Mathematics preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in repo dealing.
• Licensed with HKMA/SFC preferred or plan to obtain within 1 year after onboarding.
• Good sense of risk management and ability to work under pressure.
• Fluent in English and Chinese, including Mandarin, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Conduct repo transactions in line with market conditions and bank funding requirements.
• Participate in system enhancement projects, collect user requirements, conduct user testing and assist system launch.
• Responsible for trading system development and optimization.
• Formulate treasury policies and procedure manuals.
• Stay updated on repo market developments and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in repo types like triparty, Bond Connect, and CIBM repos is advantageous.

Main Responsibilities

• Conduct repo transactions in accordance with prevalent market conditions and the funding position of the bank.
• Participating in system enhancement project, raise user requirements, participate user testing and system launching tasks. Work closely with internal stakeholders across departments to ensure smooth implementation.
• Responsible for trading system development and optimization;
• Formulating treasury policies and procedure manuals.
• Keep up-to-date knowledge in development of repo market and regulatory requirement.
• Experience in trading triparty repo, bond connect repo, CIBM repo would be an advantage.

Requirements

• University degree or above in Economics, Finance or Mathematics preferred;
• Minimum 3 years of experience in repo dealing. Good knowledge of repo trading from front to back operations.;
• Member of Treasury Markets Association(TMA)/With Enhanced Competency Framework(ECF) qualification/relevant qualifications for RI licensing under HKMA preferred or successfully achieved within one year after onboarding. Licensed with HKMA/SFC are preferable;
• Good sense of risk management;
• A good team player, hardworking, self-disciplined and willing to work under pressure;
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, including Mandarin;
• Proficient in MS Office and Bloomberg.
• Candidate with more experience will be considered as senior trader.
