Job description

Join a leading financial institution in Hong Kong as Treasury Operations & Control Manager, with a clear focus on securities and derivatives products. You will lead a team responsible for end‑to‑end transaction processing, settlement risk management and control activities across rates, FX and credit products, while strengthening operational controls and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day treasury market operations for securities and derivatives, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant processing of trades and settlements.
• Monitor settlement and counterparty risk, resolve exceptions and oversee confirmations, postings and reconciliations to ensure complete and correct trade lifecycle execution for derivatives and securities transactions.
• Review and approve treasury transactions and payments in systems, validating trade details with counterparties and ensuring all documentation and records meet internal and regulatory standards.
• Prepare and validate management, regulatory and Head Office reports on treasury activities, with particular focus on derivatives and securities positions, exposures and operational metrics.
• Strengthen the control environment by enhancing procedures, operational manuals and training, and by leading process simplification and automation initiatives for securities and derivatives workflows.
• Support the Group Head in achieving departmental objectives, leading projects and assignments, and representing treasury operations in cross‑functional discussions with Front Office, Risk, Finance and Technology.

Requirements

• Degree in Banking, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related discipline; post‑graduate qualifications are an advantage.
• At least 10 years’ experience in treasury market operations, including 5+ years in a supervisory or managerial role overseeing teams and processes.
• Strong product knowledge of securities and derivatives operations, including Interest Rate Swaps, Cross Currency Swaps, other OTC derivatives, HKD Exchange Fund Bills and Bonds, and related clearing and settlement systems (SWIFT, CHATS, CMU).
• Good understanding of banking operations, market infrastructure, global settlement practices and regulatory requirements, including OTC derivatives trade repository reporting and other regulatory obligations.
• Proven leadership, coaching and people‑management skills, with a collaborative style and strong interpersonal abilities.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and proficient in MS Office applications.
