Arena Investors, LP is seeking an Associate of Trading Operations to support the Corporate Securities business across APAC. The role will manage trade life cycles, ensure real-time accuracy of the OMS, and collaborate with custodians, prime brokers, and other internal teams.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years in securities or buy-side operations, strong Excel (VBA) skills, and a commitment to control-minded trade management across APAC time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (finance/economics/accounting)
• 3–5+ years in securities or buy-side investing
• Experience with risk, settlements or trading support functions
• Experience with Prime Brokers, Custodians and OTC counterparties

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead investment discussions ensuring real-time accuracy of pipeline and OMS
• Support APAC investment team in operational aspects of corporate securities transactions
• Maintain risk controls and post-trade reconciliations, asset servicing, collateral and liquidity management
• Be the first APAC Operations hire, covering trading desks across APAC time zones
• Coordinate with custodians, dealers and prime brokers to launch new accounts and improve workflows
• Assist with onboarding new custodians, trading counterparts and financing lines
• Set up new accounts/entities with the fund administrator
• Monitor cash inflows/outflows for investments and reconcile data
• Support ad-hoc projects and data integrity analyses
• Collaborate across departments and senior leadership

Job description

A leading alternative investment manager is looking to expand the global Operations Team through the addition of an Associate of Trading Operations to provide unparalleled support to the firm's Corporate Securities business lines. In this role, this individual will oversee all aspects of the life cycle of tradeable securities across APAC markets. The individual will also work closely with all departments of the firm. Ideal candidates will be self‑motivated, resourceful, and have excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and lead initial investment discussions and ensure the firm's internal investment pipeline and order management system (OMS) maintain complete, real‑time accuracy.
• Support APAC investment team in the operational aspect of all corporate securities transactions including private convertible bonds and other bespoke direct lending transactions.
• Bring a control-first mindset to trade management; have an exceptional knowledge of trade capture, post-trade reconciliation and controls, asset servicing, and collateral & liquidity management.
• Work as the first hire on the APAC Operations team to provide high‑quality coverage to all trading desks across APAC time zones.
• Serve as a "go to" resource in APAC for the business, asset management, legal counsel, senior leadership, and other internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate with the firm's global custodians, dealers, and prime brokers to launch new accounts, implement controls to minimize errors, and improve daily processing workflows.
• Support the addition of new global custodians, trading counterparts, deal sources, financing lines, and joint venture relationships.
• Set up new accounts and entities with the firm's fund administrator.
• Work closely with the team to monitor, record and reconcile cash inflows and outflows from new and existing investments.
• Assist with internal data integrity analysis.
• Promote and sponsor ad‑hoc projects as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a top university, ideally in a quantitative area (e.g., finance, economics, accounting).
• 3-5 years+ of direct experience at a securities or buy‑side investment firm.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel (VBA a plus) skills.
• Experience with risk, settlements, or trading assistant functions.
• Experience interacting with Prime Brokers, Custodians, and OTC Counterparties.
• Experience implementing strategic, scalable solutions to foster Front Office business growth.
• Experience working with large data sets; an understanding of data hierarchy.
