Job summary

Pharo Management in Hong Kong is seeking a Trading Assistant to bridge the Portfolio Management and Execution Teams. You will ensure accurate trade capture, support settlement, and assist with PnL reconciliation across Fixed Income, FX, and Interest Rate strategies.

The role requires 0–3 years on a trading desk, strong quantitative foundation, and solid English communication skills. You will work closely with the tech team to optimize the trading process.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years’ experience on a trading desk at an investment bank or buy-side firm.
• Strong academic background with an interest in international finance, mathematics, or macroeconomics.
• Excellent verbal and oral communication skills.
• Strong work ethic with a proclivity to self-start.
• Quantitatively inclined with proficiency in the Microsoft Suite.
• Capacity to grasp and learn new topics and concepts.

Responsibilities

• Bridge the working relationship between the Portfolio Management Team and Execution Team.
• Ensure trades are captured accurately by internal risk systems and the trade blotter is clean.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth settlement of all trades.
• Aid in Portfolio management bookkeeping to limit residual risk.
• Control futures’ delivery to ensure trading current, liquid contracts.
• Manage NDF fixing risk and assist with PnL reconciliation for FI, FX, and IR strategies.
• Work with software development to optimize start-to-finish trading processes.
