Job summary

Private Advertiser in Hong Kong is seeking a Trade Support Trainee for Asian Equity Derivative. You will handle trade processing and reconciliation, aligning with Front Office requirements to ensure accuracy and timely issue resolution.

The role emphasizes meticulous data handling, cross-functional collaboration, and ongoing process improvements. A finance-related degree, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work long hours are expected.

Qualifications

• University degree in finance, commerce or mathematics.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and long hours.
• Excellent English communication.
• Knowledge of derivatives is preferred.
• Basic programming knowledge in Java/C++/VBA is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

• Manage the day-to-day trade processing and reconciliation to ensure data accuracy and completeness
• Resolve clients' queries and trade discrepancies
• Accurately capture and validate trades in booking systems
• Working closely with Front Office to ensure their business requirements and improving processes.
• Perform daily reconciliations between internal systems and external counterparty statements to identify and resolve breaks.
• Participate in designing the operating process workflow, supporting improvements and re-engineering operational processes.

Skills required

• University degree, ideally in finance, commerce or mathematics
• Organized mindset with strong analytical skills
• Capable to work under pressure and long hours
• Self-motivated and pro-active
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Good System skills and ability to work with IT partners essential
• Derivatives knowledge, preferably with one year experience in derivative or related field
• Knowledge in programming skills, Java, C++, VBA would be desirable but not essential
