Job summary

The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Haking Wong) invites applications for a Term Lecturer in the Department of Hospitality. The appointee will teach, prepare programme materials, supervise student projects and support academic administration.

Responsibilities include developing curriculum and training materials, assisting in validation and accreditation of programmes, and engaging with industry through attachments, campus projects, seminars, short courses and exhibitions.

Qualifications

• A relevant recognised degree or professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification.
• At least 3 years relevant teaching and/or industry experience.
• Good presentation, teaching and facilitation skills in both English and Chinese; Putonghua proficiency is an advantage.
• Good records of work/teaching experience in hospitality marketing and event management is an added advantage.

• (1) Applicant(s) with less experience may be considered for the post of Term Assistant Lecturer at the rank of Teaching Associate.
• (2) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
• (3) Shortlisted candidate(s) will be required to take a written assessment.
• (4) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal working hours and/or outside campus.
