Job summary

The University of Hong Kong invites applications for two tenure-track posts at Associate Professor/Assistant Professor level in the School of Biological Sciences. Appointments are on a three-year fixed-term basis with renewal possible and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year term.

Successful candidates will join SWIMS, lead independent marine research programmes, mentor students, teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and engage with regional conservation

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Marine Science, Conservation Biology, Environmental Policy, Ecological Economics, or related field.
• Growing international record of research excellence in Marine Science and Conservation.
• Proven track record securing research funding and publishing high-impact research.
• Expertise focused on Greater China, East Asia, and/or Southeast Asia.
• Innovative scholars with potential for tenure.

Responsibilities

• Develop independent, world-class research programmes through SWIMS.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students and contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Engage with regional marine protection networks and cross-sector coalitions.
