Job summary

Selby Jennings is partnering with a leading Asset Management firm to hire a Technology Equity Research Analyst for its Hong Kong investment team. The role reports to the Head of Equity Research and collaborates with Portfolio Managers to generate ideas across the Technology sector, covering Semiconductors, Hardware, Software, Internet, and broader TMT in Greater China.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of buy-side or sell-side equity research experience.
• Strong fundamental research and financial modelling capabilities.
• Fluent Mandarin and English communication skills.
• Technical academic background highly preferred.
• Willingness to be based in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental equity research across the Technology sector, focusing on Semiconductors, Hardware, Software, Internet, and related industries.
• Develop and maintain detailed financial models, industry analyses, and investment theses.
• Monitor industry developments, competitive dynamics, and emerging technology trends.
• Generate actionable investment ideas and present recommendations to Portfolio Managers and the wider investment team.
• Participate in company meetings, earnings calls, channel checks, and industry research projects.
• Collaborate closely with senior investment professionals to support portfolio construction and investment decision-making.

The team is particularly interested in candidates who possess a genuine passion for investing and a strong technical foundation, with academic backgrounds in disciplines such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Semiconductor Engineering, or other related fields.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant buy-side or sell-side equity research experience
• Prior coverage of Technology, TMT, Semiconductors, Hardware, Software, Internet, or related sectors preferred
• Strong fundamental research and financial modelling capabilities
• Technical academic background highly preferred
• Fluent Mandarin and English communication skills required
• Demonstrated interest in public market investing and stock selection
• Willingness to be based in Hong Kong
