Job description

Established in 1998, Gary Cheng CPA Limited is a leading local professional accounting firm in Hong Kong serving both private companies and public listed companies in Hong Kong as well as multinational corporations.

You Will Need To Do

Provide practical and timely technical support to engagement teams on the application of auditing standards, methodology and firm policies (e.g. consultation queries, complex judgement areas, documentation approach).
Perform / coordinate quality assurance reviews and drive follow-up actions to improve consistency and engagement quality across the practice.
Develop, maintain and enhance audit tools, templates, guidance notes and practice aids, ensuring they remain aligned with professional pronouncements and evolving methodology.
Support and conduct internal technical training / sharing sessions, including preparing materials and consolidating key takeaways for the practice.
Draft / review technical materials (e.g. technical memos, consultation summaries, internal guidance) and communicate key messages clearly to engagement teams in a practical, implementable manner.
Monitor relevant technical developments and communicate updates to the practice, helping teams stay current and apply requirements consistently.
Participate in practice-wide audit quality / risk management initiatives and other ad hoc projects as required.

We Are Looking For

Degree holder in Accounting / Finance or related disciplines.
Qualified member of HKICPA (or equivalent).
Solid experience in audit / assurance (ideally 6–10+ years; strong candidates with Professional Practice / Audit Technical / Quality experience are welcome).
Strong technical foundation in auditing standards and financial reporting requirements in Hong Kong; able to translate technical requirements into practical execution and coaching.
Experience in quality assurance review / technical consultation / methodology or template development is highly preferred; training delivery experience is a plus.
Exposure to listed company audits / licenses corporations / larger private groups is preferred.
Mature judgement, strong analytical skills and attention to detail; able to identify key issues efficiently and provide clear direction to teams.
Exposure to and experience in dealing with regulators is an advantage
Excellent communication and writing skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).
Self-motivated, proactive, able to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure.
