Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is hiring a System Development Manager for the Listing Systems team in Hong Kong. You will design, develop, test, deploy, and support modern web applications used by listed companies, collaborating with business users, infrastructure, security, and development teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least four years of experience with mission-critical enterprise apps, cloud technologies, microservices, SPA, and API

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in development, implementation, and support of mission-critical web applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Understanding of cloud technologies (Huawei Cloud Stack preferred), microservices, event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
• Experience with SPA, API design and governance, RESTful services, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Knowledge of database design and data modeling (PostgreSQL, GaussDB, Redis advantageous).

Job Summary

Listing Systems team is responsible for the design and implementation of all of our applications systems for our Listing Division. We are now hiring a motivated and energetic System Development Manager to join us. You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support of modern web applications used by all the listed companies.

Job Duties

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business users, infrastructure, security, and development teams, to analyse business requirements and propose practical, scalable, and sustainable technical solutions. Participate in project planning, scheduling, change management, issue resolution, and release management. Monitor project progress, ensure adherence to project milestones, and provide timely and effective communication of project status to stakeholders. Define, plan, and execute testing activities to ensure applications meet both functional and non-functional requirements, including reliability, performance, resilience, contingency, and security standards. Support application delivery throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, testing, deployment, and production support. Coordinate with development teams and vendors to ensure quality deliverables, timely execution, and compliance with established standards and best practices.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 4 years of experience in the development, implementation, and support of mission-critical, enterprise-scale web applications. Proven experience as a System Analyst or equivalent role, working closely with development teams and managing vendors throughout the full project lifecycle. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with keen attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions. Understanding of cloud technologies (Huawei Cloud Stack preferred), microservices architecture, event-driven architecture and distributed systems. Experience with Single Page Applications (SPA), API design and governance, RESTful services, and API documentation standards such as OpenAPI/Swagger. Knowledge of database design, data modeling, and technologies such as PostgreSQL, GaussDB, and Redis would be an advantage. Proven experience in execution of quality assurance activities for critical application systems, ensuring compliance with functional, technical, performance, and security requirements. Self-motivated and proactive team player, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
