Job summary

CLSA is seeking an experienced Data Project Manager in Hong Kong to lead core client and product data systems and the next-generation data platform. You will drive requirements analysis, governance, and enterprise data solutions tailored for finance, ensuring timely delivery and robust data models across client, product, and trade data.

The role demands 10–15 years in data project management within banking/finance, strong SQL skills, and excellent communication in English; Mandarin is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or above in IT/Computers or data-related field.
• 10-15 years in data project management, preferably in banking/finance.
• Strong understanding and modelling of financial product, client, and trade information.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills in English; Mandarin is a plus.
• Experience with data governance and BI analytics is advantageous.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

• Focus on CSI core client and product system, as well as our next-generation data platform.
• Lead Data projects from analyzing and designing user requirements for our data systems, strengthening platform offerings, and implementing data governance and enterprise data applications.
• Ensure enterprise data platform and its applications are delivered according to timeline
• Analyze data modeling product and client data in an investment banking setting
• Design unifying data models for each class and be capable of independently finding solutions to data problems.
• Drive the buildout of enterprise data solutions to fulfill general business needs.
• Resolve operational issues and implement preventative measures.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree or above in IT/Computer Science or Data related
• 10-15 years relevant experience in Data project managements, preferably in banking/finance sector
• Strong understanding and modelling of financial product, client, and trade information.
• Strong data sense and critical thinking.
• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent team player, open to new ideas.
• Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and willing to learn and teach.
• Strong communication skills in written and verbal English, Mandarin proficiency is a plus
• Knowledge of P&L/Revenue calculation and business intelligence analytics is a plus.
• Experience in data governance within the financial domain is a plus.
• Development experience is a plus.
• Knowing Market Data knowledge and previous work experience in Market Data team is a plus
