Job summary

CLSA is seeking an experienced Project Manager to drive delivery of strategic Commodities Options technology initiatives in a fast-paced front-office environment. You will bridge business stakeholders and technology teams, own requirements, solution design, and end-to-end delivery across multiple workstreams.

The role requires strong trading systems knowledge, hands-on Java/Python in investment banking, and excellent English and Chinese communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science/Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8–12 years of experience in technology project delivery in investment banking or capital markets.
• Proven experience delivering front-office technology initiatives and enhancing enterprise trading platforms.
• Understanding of OTC derivatives and trading systems, preferably Commodities Options.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, messaging frameworks, and event-driven architectures.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, release management, testing frameworks, and modern delivery practices.
• Hands-on experience with Java and Python in enterprise applications within finance.
• Experience with pricing, risk management, market data, trade lifecycle, and post-trade systems is desirable.
• Knowledge of Calypso or similar capital markets platforms is a strong plus.
• Ability to collaborate with engineering teams on design, reviews, and modernization.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent English and Chinese communication skills.

The successful candidate will act as the key link between business stakeholders and technology teams, taking ownership of requirements analysis, solution design, technical delivery, and platform enhancements across the Commodities technology landscape.

This role requires a highly technical individual with a strong understanding of trading systems and software delivery processes. The candidate will work closely with front-office users and technology teams to design scalable solutions, drive delivery execution, and ensure successful implementation of strategic initiatives.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

• Lead requirements analysis and solution definition for Commodities Options technology initiatives.
• Translate complex business requirements into detailed functional, technical, and system specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science/Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• 8–12 years of experience in technology projects delivery, within investment banking or capital markets.
• Proven experience delivering complex front-office technology initiatives and enhancing enterprise trading platforms.
• Understanding of OTC derivatives and trading systems, preferably Commodities Options will be preferrable
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, enterprise application architecture, software design principles, APIs, messaging frameworks, and event-driven architectures.
• Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle, release management, testing frameworks, and modern delivery practices.
• Strong SQL and data analysis skills, with the ability to perform technical investigations, impact assessments, and root cause analysis of complex issues.
• Hands-on exposure to Java and Python technology stacks, with experience working on Java-based enterprise applications and Python-based automation, data processing, or platform enhancement initiatives within investment banking, capital markets, commodities, or derivatives business
• Experience working with pricing, risk management, market data, trade lifecycle, and post-trade systems is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Calypso or similar capital markets platforms is a strong advantage.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams on solution design, technical reviews, implementation approaches, platform modernization, and automation initiatives.
