Job summary

Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing Ltd. is seeking a Senior Cloud Services Engineer to design, deploy and operate HKEX cloud infrastructure across multiple environments.

The role collaborates with development, operations and security teams to ensure stability, scalability and security of HKEX cloud platforms. You will build modular Terraform modules, enhance observability with Prometheus, Grafana and ELK, and lead incident response with thorough RCAs to improve reliability and security across HKEX

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years in AWS, Azure, GCP or China Brand Private Cloud.
• Expert-level proficiency in Terraform for managing large-scale infrastructure as code.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or Bash for automation tooling.
• Extensive hands-on experience with observability platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK.
• Deep understanding of cloud networking and security, including VPC design and CIS compliance standards.
• Familiar with AI-driven data analytics, reporting and anomaly detection to enhance incident triage.
• Proven ability to solve complex problems in distributed systems under pressure.

Job Summary:

HKEX Cloud Platform Services team is seeking for motivated and experienced Senior Cloud Services Engineer. This team is driving the design, deployment, and ongoing operation support on cloud-based solutions. Also this team will work across different application development, infrastructure operations, and security teams to ensure stability, scalability, and security of HKEX cloud infrastructure.

Job Duties:

Job Responsibilities:

Maintain platform stability and high availability by defining and monitoring key observability metrics across all cloud environments.

Lead incident response efforts and conduct thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to implement long-term preventative measures.

Develop and govern a library of modular Terraform modules to ensure all deployments are standardized and reproducible.

Identifying and reducing manual toil by building automation scripts and exploring intelligent tooling for repetitive operational tasks.

Build and manage comprehensive observability stacks, including monitoring and logging, to provide deep visibility into system health.

Enforce security standards such as CIS Benchmarks through the implementation of automated guardrails.

Optimize cloud resource utilization and costs by using predictive insights to scale infrastructure based on real-time demand.

Job Requirements:

Minimum 4 years in AWS, Azure, GCP or China Brand Private Cloud, professional experience in SRE or DevOps roles managing high-availability production environments.

Expert-level proficiency in Terraform for managing large-scale infrastructure as code.

Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Go, or Bash for developing robust automation tools.

Extensive hands-on experience with observability platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.

Demonstrate a deep understanding of cloud networking and security, including VPC design and CIS compliance standards.

Familiar with modern automation trends, such as using AI-driven data analytics, reporting and anomaly detection to enhance incident triage.

Proven ability to solve complex problems in distributed systems while working under high-pressure situations.
