Job summary

Standard Chartered in Hong Kong, within the Capital Markets Product & Solution team, seeks a Trade Support professional to provide dealing support across Structured products, FX, FI and Equities. You will handle trade capture, lifecycle management, and ensure compliance with policies and risk controls.

Ideal candidate has 3–5 years of experience in capital markets, familiarity with trade lifecycle, VBA and advanced Excel, and strong communication with front and middle offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Finance, Business, Economics or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in capital markets or middle office.
• Practical knowledge of Structured products, FX, FI and Equities.
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle from execution to settlement.
• Proficiency in VBA for automation and advanced Excel skills; HK Type 1/4 license advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day trade capture and booking, validation and lifecycle management.
• Perform trade reconciliation, investigate and resolve breaks promptly.
• Monitor and manage trade events (amend/cancel, late bookings, corporate actions).
• Support daily P&L and risk checks while ensuring policy compliance.
• Liaise with front, middle and back offices and external issuers.
• Assist in process enhancements, automation and control improvements.
• Support new product launches, system enhancements and UAT testing.
• Prepare regular MIS reports for management.

Job description

This position is part of the Capital Markets Product & Solution (CMPS) team, supporting dealing desks across Structured products, FX, Fixed Income and Equites. The role is responsible for all deal and order-related activities, including close liaison with Front Office and other stakeholders. The incumbent will focus on providing timely and accurate dealing support while ensuring strict adherence to internal policies, compliance requirements and market risk controls throughout the trade life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day trade capture & booking, validation, and lifecycle management for capital markets products (Structured products, FX, Fixed Income, Equities)
• Perform trade reconciliation, investigation and resolve breaks promptly.
• Monitor and manage trade events (Amend & Cancel, late trade booking, trade unwinding, corporate actions etc…)
• Support daily P&L and risk checking
• Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements
• Liaison with different external & internal stakeholders (Issuers, front, middle and back offices mainly)
• Assist in process enhancement, automation initiatives, and control improvements
• Support new product launches, system enhancements, projects and UAT testing
• Prepare regular reports MIS for management

Skills and Competencies

Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred (Finance, Business, Economics, or related technical discipline)
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in the financial industry, preferably in Middle Office / Trade Support or related capital markets functions.
• Practical Knowledge of Structured products, foreign exchange (FX), Fixed income products (FI), Equites
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle from execution to settlement
• Proficiency in VBA for process automation, reporting and data analysis; Advanced Excel skills
• Hong Kong Type 1 and Type 4 license holder will be an advantage
