Best Fine (Hong Kong) Limited is hiring a Sourcing & Material Developer for Handbag/SLG/Travel Goods & Accessories in Kwun Tong/Kowloon Bay. You will co-develop innovative materials, oversee lab dips, and ensure timely, high-quality samples with overseas offices.

Applicants should have at least 10 years' experience in handbags or travel goods, strong material knowledge (PU, PVC, leather, fabrics), and fluency in English and Putonghua. Travel readiness is required.

Qualifications

10+ years in handbag/SLG/travel goods sector.
Experience in multinational buying office preferred.
Proven US market exposure with branded labels.
Deep knowledge of materials (PU, PVC, leather, fabrics).
Strong color matching and lab dip approvals.
Familiar with REACH, RoHS, ASTM testing.
Fluent English and Putonghua.
Willingness to travel frequently for fieldwork.

Responsibilities

Liaise with overseas offices to co-develop materials for handbags, SLG, luggage and accessories.
Monitor vendor timelines, approve colors/lab dips, ensure on-time high-quality samples.
Provide hands-on technical support during development and mass production.
Source new material suppliers, mills and vendors and present on-trend materials to design team.

Sourcing & Material Developer (Handbag/SLG/Travel Goods & Accessories)

Job Responsibilities

Liaise with overseas offices to co-develop innovative materials and components for fashion handbags, small leather goods (SLG), luggage and travel accessories
Monitor vendor development timelines, evaluate and approve colors/lab dips, and ensure the on-time delivery of high-quality samples
Provide hands‑on technical support and resolve quality issues during both the product development and mass production phases
Source and identify new material suppliers, textile mills, and component vendors to present on‑trend materials and advanced techniques to the design team for inspiration
Prepare comprehensive development status reports and maintain accurate material databases to track progress
Assist managers and team leads with strategic ad‑hoc projects and streamline daily operations

Requirements

Tertiary education or above
Minimum 10 years of solid experience in the handbag, SLG, or travel goods & accessories industry; prior experience working within a multinational buying office is highly preferred
Proven track record dealing with the US market and branded fashion handbag labels is a distinct advantage
Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, material treatments (including PU, PVC, leather, jacquard and other fabrics), and overall handbag/travel goods construction
Exceptional capability in color matching, evaluating lab dips, and approving physical material samples
Comprehensive familiarity with international quality standards and material testing protocols (e.g., REACH, RoHS, ASTM)
Professional fluency in both written and spoken English and Putonghua is mandatory
Flexibility and willingness to travel frequently for fieldwork, including visits to fabric markets, textile mills, and manufacturing plants
