Job summary

AXA Hong Kong and Macau is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to drive solution architecture across life, health and general insurance domains. You will lead solutioning activities, craft future-state architectures, and guide cloud-first initiatives leveraging Azure and OpenShift, while coordinating with stakeholders to align with business strategy.

The role requires strong TOGAF expertise, vendor management skills, and fluent English (Cantonese preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or related field.
• 8+ years relevant experience with 3+ years in solution architecture, including 1 year in a leadership role.
• 3+ years’ experience in finance/insurance industry preferred.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and TOGAF.
• Knowledge across Life/Health/General Insurance and Insurance Operations.
• Exposure to AI, web, mobile, data, cloud technologies (Azure/OpenShift).
• Experience in core system modernization for Life insurance.
• Experience in cloud-first architecture and move to cloud.
• Vendor management experience.
• Understanding of finance and resource estimation.
• Certifications in cloud, EA, or cyber security advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Analytical, organized, and assertive.
• Fluent English; Cantonese preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business strategy and trends with Enterprise Architect peers to derive future-state solutions.
• Lead and support solutioning activities for technical and infrastructure solutions.
• Define and present solution options with ballpark estimates aligned to business needs.
• Assess solution options from technical and business perspectives to ensure alignment with strategy.
• Identify risks and mitigation measures for proposed solutions.
• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to develop architecture and capture requirements.
• Coordinate multiple technical disciplines and secure sign-offs.
• Technology incubation through market trend research and POC testing.

Job description

Responsibilities

1. Solution Architecture

• Working with Enterprise Architect peers to analyze business strategy and trends and consider other Enterprise Architect viewpoints (such as business, information and solution). Remedy deficiencies in the current-state technologies to derive the future-state.
• Leading and supporting solutioning activities that guide the development and management of technical and infrastructure solutions.
• Define and present the solution options for new projects. Prepare recommendations with ballpark estimates to business users ensuring the options are aligned with business needs and strategy.
• Identify and assess various solution options from both technical architecture and business architecture perspectives to ensure recommendations are aligned with the business needs and strategy.
• Identify technology and delivery risks associated with proposed solutions to ensure that necessary measures are taken to mitigate these risks.
• Work closely with project team and key stakeholders to develop the overall solution architecture and ensure all requirements from key stakeholders are captured.
• Organizing / aligning various technical disciplines and obtain necessary sign-off.

1. Technology Incubation

• Research market trends and identify upcoming solutions, conduct POC testing and report POC results to ensure solutions remain competitive against the market trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related fields.
• Minimum 8 years relevant experience with 3+ years in solution architecture role, in which 1 year in a leadership role.
• Over 3+ years’ experience in finance / insurance industry is preferred.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies (e.g., TOGAF).
• Has sound knowledge in multiple domain and line of business (Life/Health/General Insurance/Insurance Operations).
• Wide exposure in different technologies (AI, web, mobile app, data, cloud, AS/400, RPG, ARCAD, etc.).
• Experienced in core system modernization, particularly for Life insurance business.
• Experienced in deigning solution which leverage Azure Cloud platforms and Containerization Platform (OpenShift preferred).
• Experience in cloud first solution architecture and move to cloud.
• Proven experience in steering enterprise-wide IT systems and applications implementation.
• Experience in vendor management.
• Understanding of finance and resource estimation.
• Relevant certifications in cloud technology, enterprise architecture, cyber security or related areas would be an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with being organized, structured, and assertive.
• Fluent in English. Cantonese is strongly preferred.
