Job summary

NEX Corporation in Hong Kong seeks a Software Engineer (Connected Play SDK & Platform) to design, build and maintain SDKs, platform tools, APIs, examples and docs that enable Connected Play in games. You will help shape backend service requirements and ensure tools empower developers across projects.

Collaborate with game engineers, designers, and publishers to plan online features, review API needs, and deliver clear, developer-facing documentation and samples.

Qualifications

  • Strong programming in C# with Unity and Android components.
  • Experience with client-server architectures and RESTful APIs.
  • 3–5 years of software development experience.
  • Experience maintaining libraries and writing developer-facing documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain infrastructures / SDK to unlock Connected Play in games.
  • Collaborate with game engineers, designers, backend/platform teams, and publishers on new online features.
  • Assist game developers with adopting new features via examples, test tools, and documentation.
  • Review API and service requirements for game-team compatibility.

Software Engineer (Connected Play SDK & Platform)

As our Software Engineer (Connected Play SDK & Platform), you will help game teams build Connected Play experiences by creating the SDKs, platform tools, APIs, examples, and documentation they need, while helping shape backend service requirements. We build infrastructure and tools so that families and friends, far apart, can experience the same active joy together, helping realize Nex’s bold vision: “Create the best motion games for hundreds of millions of people to play on.”

What You'll Do
  • Design, build and maintain infrastructures / SDK to unlock Connected Play in games.
  • Brainstorm, plan, and collaborate with game engineers, designers, backend/platform teams, and publishers on new online features.
  • Assist game developers in adopting new features, with clear examples, test tools, and documentation.
  • Help review API and service requirements to make sure they work well for game teams.
Must Have
  • Strong programming experience in C# or similar languages, with willingness to work across Unity and Kotlin / Android components.
  • Experience with client-server architecture, RESTful APIs, and backend service integration.
  • 3–5 years of software development experience.
  • Experience maintaining software libraries and/or writing developer-facing documentation.
Should Have
  • An obsession with code, product, and developer experience quality.
  • Experience with tooling and automation.
  • Ability to turn game-team needs into reusable platform improvements.
  • A growth mindset, always looking for more.
  • Excitement about working in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
  • Experience developing multiplayer games, connected features, libraries, or SDKs in Unity.
  • Experience with SDK design, API design, developer tools, or technical documentation.
